Is it possible for an artist to undo their legacy? Well, it seems like Eminem has spent the last decade testing what it takes to do just that, and his new single “Houdini” isn’t doing his legacy any favors either.

This spring brought the announcement of Eminem’s upcoming album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), which will be his first LP since Music To Be Murdered By from 2020, where he is bringing back his iconic alter-ego one last time. The issue is that Eminem isn’t the same rapper he was in his prime over 20 years ago. The once well-respected rapper has since fallen off, and Slim Shady is unlikely to come to the rescue.
