The production on ā€œGIRLSā€ is dynamic, with its beat accented by splashes of orchestral strings, piano, and harpsichord throughout its brief two-and-a-half-minute length. Pharrellā€™s influence on this track is unmistakable, from the opening piano and orchestral strings that can only hope to be as great as Frank Oceanā€™s ā€œPink and Whiteā€ to the percussion-driven verses echoing Justin Timberlakeā€™s early hits like ā€œLike I Love You.ā€ While emulating Pharrell is rarely a misstep, the trackā€™s production breaks little new ground.
